Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups water
  • 6-8 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick optional, for extra flavor
  • 1-2 teaspoons honey or sweetener optional
  • 1 slice of fresh ginger optional, for a warming kick
  • Lemon wedge optional, for a citrusy touch

Instructions
 

Boil Water:

  • In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Add Spices:

  • Once the water reaches a boil, add the whole cloves and cinnamon stick (if using). If you like extra spice, add the fresh ginger slice as well.

Simmer:

  • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

Strain the Tea:

  • Remove the saucepan from heat and strain the tea into cups to remove the cloves and any other spices.

Sweeten and Serve:

  • Stir in honey or your preferred sweetener for added flavor, and garnish with a lemon wedge if desired. Serve hot.
